Introducing Nash Nephew

Born November 12, 2009 at 5:31 a.m. 8 pounds 21"
Nash Dean Nephew was born in water at St. Joseph's Hospital exactly 1 hour 16 minutes after we arrived. The midwife on call arrived 10 minutes before I started pushing. Thank the Lord I had Nick and the most amazing doula to help me through those minutes before midwife arrived. Nash so far is an absolute dream baby! Nearly sleeps through the night, eats well, hardly cries, we love him so! Dear Brynn is enjoying the new addition to the family, and Mingus thinks 'what the heck'.
We are terribly busy with moving out of our wonderful St. Paul home. We now move in with my parents for 3 weeks and then off to our new home in Birchwood! I'll update pic's with growing baby, and new home when I can.
Happy Thanksgiving! We are most thankful for our family.

Soon to be a big sister!

Brynn has lots to teach her new little brother or sister. So last weekend she thought she'd brush up on her petting zoo skills. I think she knows how to pet the animals and ride the ponies just fine. And you know what? She's even mastered sleeping in her big girl bed quite well!

Sleep Solution Needed

You see this face? It's the face of a defiant 2 year old.

We seem to be getting this look a lot lately - especially at bed time. Brynn recently went from sleeping in a crib to her very own big girl bed. My have times changed! No longer can I just rock her for a few minutes and lay her down for a peaceful nights sleep. Now the tide has turned and she refuses to stay in bed and will not allow mommy to leave the room until she falls asleep! Bedtime routines now take a couple of hours and I'm feeling neglected of any time for me. So far, the verdict is that I need to play tough and leave the room only to come in to tuck her in again without saying a word. Hopefully this works, I want my sleeping angel back!

Sweet dreams!

Our voyage to Fertile, MN in a 9 passenger van

Nick's dad is originally from the small town of Fertile, MN. Located near the White Earth Indian reservation, the land is very beautiful. It was fun to see where Dean grew up and to meet relatives who were very hospitable with lots of homemade desserts! The little cousins had a blast swimming together and playing about.

Phillips Technology Solutions

I went in for a routine ultrasound not realizing that I would walk out having seen our baby via 3D and 4D imaging! It's like you could reach out and touch him/her! And no, we're still not finding out the sex.

Our first really hot summer day!

Just west of the Cities, in the quaint town of Waconia, the Nephew clan celebrated a really hot humid day. What fun the kids had bouncing in the bouncy house and swimming in the kiddy pool. Nephew reunions are always a good time, but the weather this year made for a very memorable occasion.

Farm Girl

Grandpa and Grandma took such cute pictures this weekend of Brynn picking potatoes and enjoying the lake, that I had to share. Molly the golden retriever is one of her best buddies.

Shores of Superior

We spent another Fourth of July weekend on the north shore this year. We really lucked out with fantastic weather. Brynn was able to swim and play in the Temperance River and the Big Lake. Nick and Mingus took a nice long hike without mommy and Brynn this year (boo-hoo) but I can't help out with a Kelty pack on my back this time around. So instead, Brynn and I played at the beach and picked out trinket toys at the resort gift shop. Surprisingly, it was our first time ever eating at the Angry Trout in Grand Marais and absolutely one of the highlights of our trip - what a fabulous view and menu. It's just nice to wake up and roll out of bed with fresh air, no computer, no work, no house on the market b.s., and just enjoy. I miss it already!

Brynn turns 2!

Today is Brynn's 2nd Birthday. We can't believe how quickly the time has gone by. To celebrate, our entire family enjoyed an evening picnic at Como Park. Happy Birthday, our special girl! We love you and we are so proud of you!
